Here’s a trailer for John Malkovich‘s upcoming French comedy, Mr. Blake at Your Service, which looks like a delightful and enjoyable feel-good movie.
In the film, “Mr. Andrew Blake (Malkovich), a recently widowed British businessman, takes a job as a butler in a manor house in northern France, in a bid to get closer to the memory of his late French wife.
“His life takes an unexpected turn as he must now navigate the eccentric behaviour of the lady of the manor, Nathalie (Fanny Ardant), and the other household staff working there.”
The film is based on the novel Complètement Cramé, with the writer of the novel, Gilles Legardinier, making his directorial debut with the film. The movie also stars Émilie Dequenne, Philippe Bas, Eugénie Anselin, and Al Ginter.
This looks like a great character study and Malkovich seems to give a wonderful performance.
There’s no US release date set yet.
