I’ve shared a tabletop RPG recently meant to turn your TTRPG table into a sitcom. Now, I’m bringing you one that is set to make your group a bunch of action heroes. Whether you want Die Hard, James Bond, John Wick, Kingsman, or something similar, you can give it a go with Outgunned. This is a game using a system called Director’s Cut designed to create a cinematic experience at your table. One thing that has me intrigued is that the system doesn’t look for highest rolls per se, but prefers multiples (like Yahtzee!).

Outgunned is a cinematic action rpg inspired by the classics of the action and heist genre, from Die Hard to True Lies, passing through James Bond, Lethal Weapon, Kingsman, Ocean’s Eleven, Hot Fuzz, and the latest John Wick.

In Outgunned, Players take on the role of action Heroes facing terrible odds. They will be constantly surrounded by enemies while trying to carry out their mission, be it robbing a casino or saving the day.

Outgunned features a game system called Director’s Cut, a set of mechanics using small pools of six-sided dice to determine the outcome of the Heroes’ actions. When rolling dice, your goal is not to score the highest or lowest possible number, but to roll two-, three-, and four-of-a-kind.

Outgunned comes from Ricardo Sirignano and Simone Formicola with art by Daniela Giubellini from Two Little Mice. You can grab a quickstart guide now (affiliate link) from DriveThruRPG for any price you see fit although $1.00 is suggested.
