During Anime Boston 2023, HIDIVE unveiled a new anime called Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero. This fantasy comedy series is set to premiere this year in Japan with HIDIVE offering an exclusive simulcast. Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero is based on the manga series by toufu and the anime will be directed by Keisuke Inoue, written by Toshiya Ono, and produced by Silver Link and Blade. Here’s a synopsis of the first volume courtesy of the manga’s English publisher Seven Seas Entertainment:

The Demon Lord has been defeated by a brave warrior, but is destined to arise again! Ten years later, he emerges early from his slumber to exact his revenge. However, he returns to find that neither the world nor the legendary hero are what they once were. Can the powers of darkness triumph over…a shut-in slob?

Talking about bringing the anime to HIDIVE, the streaming company’s president, John Ledford, said:
