Some photos from the set of The Witcher Season 4 have found their way online which give us our first look at Liam Hemsworth in the role of Geralt of Rivia in the next chapter of the story.

As you’ll see, Hemsworth in the full Witcher gear, and it looks like the photos recreate a Season 3 scene in where Geralt fights Vilgefortz on a beach. I imagine this is for a flashback scene.

The photos were intially shared by Metro, but they are spreading all over social media. Fans were incredibly upset when Cavill left the series and was replaced by Hemsworth.

Series co-star Freya Allan, who plays Ciri in the show, has said she feels sorry for Hemsworth as he deals with what’s “not an ideal situation”, but hopes fans give him a chance.

The Witcher series will come to an end with Season 5, and the final two seasons are shooting back to back. They will adapt the remaining of author Andrzej Sapkowski’s books, Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake.

The Witcher Season 4 is will pick up soon after the Season 3 finale. “After the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other.

“If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire – and finding one another again.”

Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said in a statement: “It is with huge pride that we begin shooting our penultimate season of The Witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia.

“We’re thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski’s books to an epic and satisfying conclusion. It wouldn’t be our show if we didn’t push our family of characters to their absolute limit – stay tuned to see how the story ends.”

The series also stars Joey Batey, Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra, and Meng’er Zhang. New additions Laurence Fishburne, who will play Regis, and Danny Woodburn, who is starring as Zoltan, are also pictured.

Season 4 will include eight episodes in total.
