An inspired casting choice might have come to naught as a result of an unsanctioned leak. The negotiation between Marvel Studios and Jason Statham, to star as one of the daredevils’ formidable foe Bullseye is rumoured to have fallen apart as a result of the leak by the Latino Review. Whispers from the ether claims that the positive reactions of fans when the news was leaked changed the power dynamic in favor of Jason Statham. This is all speculation at the moment, we won’t really know the real reasons why it fell apart unless both parties release a joint statement collaborating the cause. Till then all we can do is speculate and hope that Marvel Studio’s doesn’t lay waste the goodwill it has garnered from their amazing take on Daredevil. To take such an interesting and dark character and to do it justice right from the first episode.
Marvel’s Daredevil premiered on the 2nd of April 2015 and features Charlie Cox as the titular character, a blind lawyer, with his remaining senses enhanced, fights crime as a costumed vigilante/superhero in New York’s crime ridden Hell’s Kitchen post the alien invasion of New York. To round up the cast are Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin. Season 2 of Marvel’s Daredevil starts shooting this summer of 2o15 for a premiere date early in 2016.
