The Amazon Prime adapted series A League of Their Own has been renewed for a second, limited season, which will finish out the series. The hourlong series, created by Will Graham and Abbi Jacobson, is an adaptation of Penny Marshall’s 1992 film of the same name. “It follows the formation of the WWII-era women’s professional baseball team weaving in the experiences of both diverse and queer women at the center—earning the show a cult following.”

Jacobson also stars in the show alongside Chanté Adams, D’Arcy Carden, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Roberta Collindrez, Kelly McCormack, Priscilla Delgado, Molly Ephraim, Kate Berlant, Melanie Field, Nick Offerman, Rosie O’Donnell, Patrick J. Adams, Patrice Covington, Sadiah Ekulona, Lea Robinson, Andia Winslow, Rae Gray, and Lil Frex.

This is one of my top favorite series that came out last year. It is so fantastically written, and so perfectly cast and acted. I am super bummed to hear that it is closing out, but I look forward to seeing what happens to these characters.

A League of Their Own Season 2 will consist of four episodes, and doesn’t have a release date yet. Stay tuned and we will let you know when it’s on its way. Season 1 is streaming now on Amazon.
