Searchlight Pictures has released the first poster for Amay Adams’ upcoming horror comedy film Nightbitch, which comes with the tagline, “Motherhood is a Bitch.”
The movie is based on the best-selling book, which tells the story “of a suburban mom thrown into the stay-at-home routine of raising a toddler.
“As she embraces the feral power deeply rooted in motherhood, she becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre and undeniable signs that she may be turning into a dog.”
Scoot McNairy (Argo, Narcos: Mexico) also stars in the film as Adams’ oft-traveling husband. Marielle Heller (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) is directing from her own script, adapted from Rachel Yoder’s debut novel.
When talking about Adams’ performance in the movie, the director told IndieWire: “She’s incredible, I mean, we all know Amy Adams is incredible. She’s been nominated for a million Academy Awards.
“She’s amazing, but she really is special in this movie and I’m just so excited for the world to see her. It’s like nothing you’ve ever seen from her before. She’s fierce and funny and dark and complicated and it’s good.”
Nightbitch will stream on Disney’s DTC platforms as a Hulu Original in the U.S., with additional release plans to be announced.
