Apparently, Netflix likes Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon movies so much that they want the filmmaker to keep pumping out movies set in that universe.

However, Snyder is ready to jump back into his Army of the Dead franchise and make another one of those films. He’s been trying to make that happen, but Netflix is more interested in Rebel Moon right now.

During an interview with Looper, Snyder explained: “I keep telling Netflix that we need to go ahead and do some more [‘Army of the Dead’] and they keep encouraging me to make more ‘Rebel Moon’ movies.”

He continued: “But I feel like this ‘Army’ universe is really very rich and fun, and zombies never go out of style, so it just feels like a no-brainer to me.”

This is so funny to me because the majority of audiences and critics don’t like the Rebel Moon movies. The first one has a 21% on Rotten Tomatoes and the sequel only has a 15% rating.

But, people are watching the movies as Snyder previously shared that the first movie has almost 90 million views with around “160 million people supposedly watching.” There’s no information on the numbers for the sequel.

All I know is that the scripts for these Rebel Moon films are awful and if any more of them get made, Snyder should seriously consider bringing on some help from talented writers that can help him craft a decent script.

Snyder previously talked about a third film they’ve been developing, saying: “We have definitely been working on a Part Three, as far as the story goes. We definitely know where we’re all headed – we’ve known that for quite a while, to be honest. So yeah, I’m excited to make some more Rebel Moon movies – that would be fun…”

We’ll just have to wait and see when he actually gets around to making it.

In the first film, “After crash landing on a moon in the furthest reaches of the universe, Kora (Sofia Boutella), a stranger with a mysterious past, begins a new life among a peaceful settlement of farmers.

“But she soon becomes their only hope for survival when the tyrannical Regent Balisarius (Fra Fee) and his cruel emissary, Admiral Noble (Ed Skrein), discover the farmers have unwittingly sold their crops to the Bloodaxes (Cleopatra Coleman and Ray Fisher) — leaders of a fierce group of insurgents hunted by the Motherworld.

“Tasked with finding fighters who would risk their lives to defend the people of Veldt, Kora and Gunnar (Michiel Huisman), a tenderhearted farmer naive in the realities of war, journey to different worlds in search of the Bloodaxes, and assemble a small band of warriors who share a common need for redemption along the way: Kai (Charlie Hunnam), a pilot and gun for hire; General Titus (Djimon Hounsou), a legendary commander; Nemesis (Bae Doona), a master swordswoman; Tarak (Staz Nair), a captive with a regal past; and Milius (E. Duffy), a resistance fighter. Back on Veldt, Jimmy (voiced by Anthony Hopkins), an ancient mechanized protector hiding in the wings, awakens with a new purpose.

“But the newly formed revolutionaries must learn to trust each other and fight as one before the armies of the Motherworld come to destroy them all.”

The Scargiver “continues the epic saga of Kora “and the surviving warriors as they prepare to sacrifice everything, fighting with the brave people of Veldt, to defend a once peaceful village, a homeland for those who have lost their own in the fight against the Motherworld.”

On the eve of their battle the warriors must face the truths of their own pasts, each revealing why they fight. As the full force of the Realm bears down on the burgeoning rebellion, unbreakable bonds are forged, great heroes emerge, and legends are made…”
