Here’s a trailer for a fantastic-looking stop-motion adventure movie titled Brave Cat. The film follows Kona, a teenage forest cat who decides to face her fears and search for her missing mother, who was kidnapped.

Her mother was kidnapped by the circus long ago. Along with Colin, an abandoned guard dog pup, and Bernard, a runaway old circus bear, the three unexpected companions will embark on a cross country search for their lost families.

The film was created by the Chilean animation group Punkrobot Studio, who won Chile’s first Oscar in 2016 for the short film Bear Story. They also created one of the segments of Star Wars Visions: Vol. 2 for Lucasfilm.

The movie was directed by Gabriel Osorio, who explains that this is “a successor to Bear Story in a way… while [that film] told a story from the point of view of someone exiled, Brave Cat tells the story of someone searching for their missing loved one.”

It looks like the movie will take audiences on an exciting and harrowing journey. Brave Cat is still looking for distribution internationally. No release date is set yet.
