Prime Video has shared the first teaser trailer for the upcoming crime thriller series Cross, which is an adaptation of James Patterson’s Alex Cross novel series.

The series stars Aldis Hodge (Black Adam, City On A Hill, One Night In Miami) as Cross, a “detective and forensic psychologist, uniquely capable of digging into the psyches of killers and their victims, in order to identify—and ultimately capture—the murderers.”

It’s explained that “Cross is brilliant, flawed, and full of contradictions. A doting father and family man, Cross is single-minded to the point of obsession when he hunts killers. He is desperate for love, but his wife’s murder has left him too damaged to receive it.”

The series was created by producer and writer Ben Watkins (Burn Notice. Hand of God), and produced by Paramount Television Studios and Skydance Television.

The series cast also includes Isaiah Mustafa, Darnell Bartholomew, Ashley Rios, Stacie Greenwell, Siobhan Murphy, Sharon Taylor, Mercedes de la Zerda, as well as Jennifer Wigmore as Chief Anderson.

This looks like it could end up being a great series! It looks like the story is going to go into some dark, gritty, and intense corners of crime.

Prime Video will premiere Cross starting sometime in 2024.
