We’ve got a featurette to share with you for Star Wars: The Acolyte, and it offers some new footage, interviews with the cast, and insight into the story.
The video includes interviews with Amandla Steinberg (Mae), Manny Jacinto (Qimir), Dafne Keen (Jecki Lon), Charlie Barnett (Jedi Knight Yord Fandar) and Carrie Anne-Moss (Jedi Master Indara). They all sit down to share what it was like for them to be a part of this production.
Keen shared how “Star Wars has always been a big part of my life,” with Moss saying “I’m pretty honored to be a part of something that’s impacted so many people.”
Stenberg also said: “I’ve always loved spending time in these universes. And the concepts that Star Wars explores feel like some of the most vital ones.”
The Acolyte is described as “a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.” The High Republic is set 100 years before the Skywalker Saga begins.
Steinberg plays a former Padawan and dangerous warrior who is hunting down and killing Jedi. In the story, “An investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Stenberg).
“As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems….”
The Acolyte will consist of eight episodes and it’s set to premiere on June 4, 2024, on Disney+. The series has been getting great reviews, so I hope that the lives up to the hype!
