Episode 8 of My Stand-In begins with Joe revealing that after that day on the set, when Ming hugged him from behind, he started to avoid him. At first, the former thought that Ming knew he was the same old Joe. However, Joe thinks he is just a replacement for someone else. Furthermore, he says his life is repeating itself. And once again, he is at the hands of the two who led Joe to his death.

When Ming visits Joe’s mother, she shares her son is different since he woke up from the coma. Later, Joe questions Ming’s interest in his story. The latter asks him how he knew how to act during the fencing scene, to which Joe says that he guessed. Ming then says Tong did not play that scene in the first film. The only person who knows about that had the same name as Joe and worked at the same place.

Ming adds that the day the old Joe disappeared was the day, the other Joe had an accident. Joe questions Ming about what he was thinking. At the same time, Ming enquires whether he believes he and the old Joe are the same person. The latter leaves without answering. Elsewhere, the detective informs Wut and Sol that the thief who broke into Joe’s place must be someone close to him.

Meanwhile, Ming sees Master and says he met someone like the old Joe. The latter replies he might be the same person. When Ming asks how it would be possible, Master says Joe is neither dead nor alive. Ming asks Master to reveal Joe’s whereabouts. However, the latter says he can only show the way, but Ming must walk the path himself.

My Stand-In episode 8 recap: Poom Phuripan’s secret is revealed

Wut confronts Joe regarding the rumors about him being involved with Ming. The latter reveals that he is Ming’s paramour. When Wut questions why he is doing so, Joe answers it is for money to support his mom’s treatment.

A suspecting Wut then questions Joe about who he really is. He claims the latter knows the details only the old Joe knew about. Ming’s call then saves Joe from responding to Wut’s suspicions. Furthermore, Wut confirms with Sol that it was the new Joe in the CCTV footage, despite the latter not revealing it.

Elsewhere, Ming asks Joe to cook ramen for him, the same meal he used to enjoy with the old Joe. After tasting it, Ming said it was the same flavor he would have before. Later, Ming begs Joe for the truth and says he cannot take it anymore. Joe then says he could not be the old Joe, and asks Ming to accept that he is dead. The latter breaks down in tears.

Furthermore, Joe visits his parents’ grave and apologizes for not taking care of the body they created. He says he was supposed to die but somehow ended up in the other Joe’s body. While he is sharing this with his parents, Wut and Sol overhear him. Wut scolds Joe as he had filmed with the unlicensed production despite the former telling him not to.

An emotional Wut then hugs Joe and says everyone misses him. Meanwhile, Ming meditates with Master to learn about Joe’s whereabouts. Later, Joe, Wut, and Sol celebrate their reunion.

After meditating, Ming finds the answer he was searching for. Moreover, Ming’s brother, Mike, confronts Joe about the deal. The latter affirms that he will be out of Ming’s life after a year. The latter arrives on time and takes Joe to the old Joe’s house. History repeats itself as the two get intimate, as they did for the first time. After Joe sneezes during a private moment, Ming realises that the old Joe is back.

The episode ends on a cliffhanger as Ming receives a call that Joe’s body has been found.
