SiM excites with eclectic “KiSS OF DEATH” music video

Reggae-metalcore giants SiM unleash their new single KiSS OF DEATH on the world. An upcoming tune off their soon-to-be-released album PLAYDEAD, it is accompanied by an enigmatic music video that pays homage to some of the band’s stylistic influences. The track is the fifth single off the album, following the singles Sad Song, HiDE and SEEK, DO THE DANCE, and RED.

In a first for the band, KiSS OF DEATH premiered first on the American anime streaming platform Crunchyroll’s website. After the use of their track The Rumbling as the opening for the much-anticipated Final Season Part 2 of the anime Attack on Titan, the band is leaning into their growing international audience.

KiSS OF DEATH is a dynamic track, showing bursts of heaviness and juxtaposing it with fun reggae moments. Sticking to their reputation as one of the most unique-sounding bands in metalcore, the track pulls out all the stops to reel you in. Swinging between catchy sections of differing vibes, it is one of those tracks that will get stuck in your head for days.

The music video is equally as eclectic. With London, and its punk aesthetics, working overtime as the backdrop—the use of different visual effects and camera cuts keeps you engaged and guessing. It’s grungy, cool, and in parts feels like a love letter to the UK.

Currently, the band is on tour around North America and has recently announced a huge album tour of Japan starting end of October.
