Following the Amazon MGM acquisition in 2022, the company is looking at a variety of titles for future movies and TV series.

According to Deadline, the franchises Amazon is considering for future film and TV projects include:

  • Barbershop
  • Fame
  • Legally Blonde
  • Pink Panther
  • RoboCop
  • Stargate
  • The Magnificent Seven
  • The Thomas Crown Affair

The outlet’s sources say that “A-list creative auspices” are reaching out about Amazon MGM franchises they are passionate about. Reportedly, Legally Blonde, RoboCop, and Stargate are being looked at for both film and TV projects. At the same time, Barbershop, Fame, and The Magnificent Seven have TV series that are being actively developed by Amazon Studios.

The report states that a Pink Panther and a Thomas Crown Affair movie are in discussion, and that there is the possibility of a Poltergeist project of some sort happening “down the road.” It also notes that the Rocky brand may could be expanding into television. This would be part of a deal between the studio and Sylvester Stallone’s Balboa Productions. Outside of an unscripted reality show, there are apparently no plans for a James Bond series, as the next movie in the series is taking top priority.

The $8.5 billion Amazon MGM acquisition led to the company acquiring multiple beloved franchises, including James Bond, Fargo, and the Rocky and Creed series.
