The newest movie in the Transformers series is rolling out to theaters. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is a new science fiction action film starring Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback. It follows a new set of characters in 1994 on an adventure to stop a Transwarp Key from getting into the wrong hands.

The Transformers: Rise of the Beasts ending may leave some scratching their head. Here’s what happened, with the possibilities for what may happen in the future.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Ending Explained

At the end of the new Transformers movie, Noah Diaz (Anthony Ramos) goes in for a job interview. His interviewer, portrayed by Michael Kelly (House of Cards, Man of Steel), reveals that he knows Noah helped save the world from Unicron (Colman Domingo). The man springs a mechanism that opens a secret headquarters and gives Noah a business card, then offers him a job. Noah looks at the card — it reads G.I. Joe.

This could lead to a massive Hasbro crossover. Noah’s recruitment into the G.I. Joes ties the Transformers movie series to a shared cinematic universe. The most recent movie in the G.I. Joe franchise was Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins, a 2021 film starring Henry Golding as the titular character. The ending of that film sets up the character of Storm Shadow, as well as Snake Eyes joining the G.I. Joes.

It is unlikely that the upcoming film will tie into 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra with Channing Tatum or 2013’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation with Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis. The new Snake Eyes movie rebooted the characters, and it will likely tie into the next Transformers movie.

Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, another Hasbro production, also came out earlier this year. However, it is unlikely that it will tie into these two; that film is more based in fantasy, while G.I. Joe and Transformers have always shared the same DNA of over-the-top explosions, military action, and sci-fi.

A movie where the G.I. Joes fight the Decepticons could be the experience of a lifetime, and fans who grew up with the toys will hardly be able to wait for what is to come.
