Petit Brabancon is set to release its highly anticipated second EP, Seven Garbage Born of Hatred, on August 7, 2024. The band characterizes this new work as “heretical”, drawing heavy inspiration from the intense numetal scene of the mid-90s.
While their 2023 EP AUTOMATA provided a more atmospheric, introspective look at the band, Seven Garbage Born of Hatred promises nothing less of veracity and savagery evoked by heavy metal concerts, walls of death, and more. Look forward to seven ferocious new tracks, with compositions by drummer Yukihiro, and guitarists Miya and antz.
Seven Garbage Born of Hatred will be available for digital download and streaming, as well as in physical format. You can check the music entry at the bottom of this post for more details.
Preorder the limited edition to gain access to exclusive advanced listening sessions in Tokyo and Osaka, with dates and locations to be announced. At these events, select members of Petit Brabancon will greet fans on stage. The specific members attending each event will be revealed on the day, but rest assured, every band member will be present at either the Tokyo or Osaka session.
The limited edition comes packaged in a fun takeout-style pizza box, complete with a matching tote bag. With 90s cartoon-inspired imagery and song names such as BATMAN, we’re looking forward to one nostalgia trip of a release.
That’s not all, as Petit Brabancon has yet another announcement for fans overseas. On May 11, Petit Brabancon opened ticket sales for overseas fans for their nationwide tour, Petit Brabancon Tour 2024 BURST CITY. This tour promotes their upcoming EP, Seven Garbage Born of Hatred, and runs nationwide from September 5–21. Overseas fans can view the full list of tour dates and purchase tickets here.
Meet Petit Brabancon, a Frankenstein’s monster of a superband consisting of five members—vocalist Kyo (DIR EN GREY, sukekiyo), drummer yukihiro (L’arc-en-Ciel), guitarists Miya (MUCC) and antz (Tokyo Shoegazer, acid android), and bassist Hirofumi Takamatsu (The Novembers). By merging the extensive careers and strong individuality of all five members, the result is a dynamic and powerful new form of progressive rock.
Petit Brabancon officially formed in 2021, debuting live at the iconic Nippon Budokan, which boasts a capacity of 10,000 people. In April 2023, the band performed at the rock festival “KNOTFEST JAPAN 2023” hosted by American metal band Slipknot. During their performance, the crowd of 20,000 fans passionately received Petit Brabancon.
To date, Petit Brabancon has released two singles, Koku / Kawaki (刻 / 渇き) and a humble border, their first full-length album Fetish, and their first EP AUTOMATA. Seven Garbage Born of Hatred is the second EP by Petit Brabancon and includes the single a humble border.
