Perfume to return the Tokyo Dome for the first time since 2020, with Nebula Romance: Episode Tokyo Dome

As the post title states, Perfume are holding a show at the famed Tokyo Dome.

It’s been quite a while since Perfume held a show at the Tokyo Dome. 5 years to be exact. Perfume’s P Cubed Tour was held exclusively in domes and was due to conclude with two dates at the Tokyo Dome on 25th February and 26th February. But COVID’s sweet 19 birthday celebration resulted in Perfume cancelling the last date. This of course didn’t stop Kovid Kumi from continuing to hold her tour — but Perfume are more responsible than most.

So Perfume playing the Tokyo Dome again is a huge deal for them and for fans.

Perfume’s September Tokyo Dome show is titled Nebula Romance: Episode Tokyo Dome, which is an interesting choice, but one which makes sense. By September, Nebula Romance: Part 2 will probably already be out, so there is no point rebranding the show as something different. This also makes it highly likely that fans may get a performance of a song from the new album — probably “Shein Factory -Denzo Ningen-” and whichever song ends up being the hero song for the album. But I also wouldn’t be surprised if they chose to hold off on performing anything from the album so that performances of songs from Nebula Romance: Episode 2 in a tour setting feels completley fresh to fans.

I really do not know how Perfume and their team are able to conceive and plan for all of these shows and tours. The logistics and level of planning and work and effort it must take — my brain just cannot comprehend. Especially when these tours and shows are all back to back to back. Some of these shows had to have been planned parallel. Perfume’s team being stretched in this way is probably why we’ve gotten horrendous AI visuals for some of their shows. Vile. They need to stop with that mess.

Nebula Romance: Episode Tokyo Dome will take place on 22nd September and 23rd September, 2025. Or ZOZ5. I still don’t get this whole thing of replacing the number 2 with the letter Z.
