HBO Max’s new TV and movie releases for May 20-26 2024 include the Max originals Thirst with Shay Mitchell and Romário: The Guy, as well as the film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Starting May 23, HBO Max subscribers can stream two new shows, Thirst with Shay Mitchell and Romario: The Guy. The former is a reality series that sees actress Shay Mitchell visit various places where she samples various drinks, learns about the latest drink trends and best bars, and engages in interesting and insightful conversations with various expert hosts. The latter series is a documentary chronicling Brazilian footballer Romario’s journey to find his fourth title in the 1994 World Cup.

Then on May 26, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice arrives on HBO Max. The second film of the DC Extended Universe, this sequel to Man of Steel sees Batman and Superman come to blows thanks to Lex Luthor’s machinations.

Also releasing on HBO Max this week is STAX: Soulsville U.S.A., a documentary series that is directed and produced by Jamila Wignot. This documentary, which previously premiered at South by Southwest on March 10, follows the history of Stax Records, a record label that helped various artists such as Otis Redding, Isaac Hayes, and Booker T. & the M.G’.s reach new heights of success.
