Over the weekend, Lucasfilm released a new trailer for The Acolyte to celebrate Star Wars Day. There was a good amount of new footage shared in that trailer.

For those of you who went to see the re-release of The Phantom Menace in theaters this weekend, there was a sneak peek of The Acolyte shared that featured a fight scene between Amandla Steinberg’s Jedi killing character and Carrie-Anne Moss’s Jedi character.

Today we’ve got a new poster to share with you featuring all of the main characters in the series including the mysterious new villain revealed in the recent trailer.

I know some fans aren’t excited about this show, but Carrie Anne Moss plays a badass Jedi character in this show, and I’m up for that!

The story is described as “a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.” The High Republic is set 100 years before the Skywalker Saga begins.

Amandla Steinberg plays a former Padawan and dangerous warrior who is hunting down and killing Jedi.

In The Acolyte, “An investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems….”

Showrunner Leslye Headland promises that The Acolyte will be “packed” with nods to pretty much every era in Star Wars.

The series also stars Squid Game’s Lee Jung-jae stars as Jedi Master Sol, Manny Jacinto, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Charlie Barnett, Dean-Charles Chapman, Carrie-Anne Moss, Margarita Levieva, Joonas Suotamo, and Amy Tsang.

The Acolyte will have eight episodes in total, with Headland, Garcia Lopez, and Kogonada directing episodes of the series. It’s set to premiere on June 4, 2024, on Disney+.

I also included a new banner for the series below the trailer. Happy Star Wars Day!
