After teasing fans all week with a social media countdown, MIYAVI unveiled his latest song We Stay Up All Night (La Da Da Da) on August 30. The track is available on international streaming platforms and a lyric video featuring MIYAVI with choreographed dancers is on YouTube. The release is accompanied by even more great news: His new album Lost in Love will be available internationally on October 9.

Following the theme of his earlier releases from this year, We Stay Up All Night (La Da Da Da) is a dark, pop-rock track drawing from MIYAVI’s own experiences and exploration of identity. At first listen, one might think it’s a high-energy song about partying all night, but pay a little more attention to the lyrics and you’ll catch glimpses of more personal and vulnerable thoughts. Lines such as “When I was a little kid, fear was my friend. Darkness no end. Sorry Ma, I messed up again” expose some of the samurai guitarist’s inner demons.

International fans have been patiently waiting for MIYAVI’s Lost in Love. The album has been exclusively available as a physical release in Japan since April, but now the rest of the world will finally get the chance to listen. The nine-track album will include songs released earlier this year, including Broken Fantasy, Tragedy of Us, and Eat Eat Eat.

In a statement to Billboard, MIYAVI said,

This album represents a three-year journey of sonic exploration where I allowed the creative process to lead the way. I intentionally took my time with this record, stepping outside my artistic comfort zone to push my boundaries and craft my best work. It’s been a vulnerable place to be after so many years in the music industry, but I knew it was necessary.
