Our favorite samurai guitarist MIYAVI is back with a music video for Running In My Head, which premiered on YouTube on August 9. The single serves as the theme song for the anime Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture. It was released earlier this year on May 8, just a few days ahead of the anime’s premiere in Japan.

The music video includes an impressive combination of cinematography and visual effects, with two versions of MIYAVI appearingone dressed in all white and seated at a table, a strategist. The second is dressed in black, appearing outside of an abandoned facility, surrounded by a rugged landscape, and often shredding on his guitar. You can catch glimpses of the Zi-Apollo, a Knightmare Frame from Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture, making a cameo appearance.

It’s been a busy year for MIYAVI, with this being his second music video after Eat Eat Eat. It’s also just one of one of many releases, including his two-part album Lost in Love, Found in Pain. Lost in Love was made available exclusively as a physical release in Japan on April 3, and Found in Pain is scheduled for release on October 9. As of now, no digital release dates have been announced for either album.

In the meantime, I guess we’ll just have to listen to Running In My Head again.
