LiSA, well-known for her empowering music in anime such as Demon Slayer, has taken the leap into the next milestone with her latest digital single, “REALiZE”, released on June 14.
The track REALiZE serves as the theme song for the highly anticipated movie “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse“, making it LiSA’s first-ever theme song for a Hollywood film. Specifically, the theme song will be featured in the Japanese dubbed version that hits the silver screen tomorrow, on June 16.
The high-energy rock anthem REALiZE is now accompanied by a visually captivating lyric video that seamlessly blends footage from the movie with aesthetically pleasing lyrics.
From the lyrics, we can see how LiSA approached the world of “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” with a resolute message: to challenge and confront one’s own fate. This sentiment resonates with the film’s protagonist, Miles Morales, as he defies the very “fate” that previous Spider-Men had no choice but to accept.
LiSA took the opportunity to share a comment on the collaboration:
I am honored to have been entrusted with the Japanese version of the theme song for this movie, in which my beloved Gwen, a strong and cute Spider-Woman, takes center stage.
The heroes in this story have embraced great power and taken on great responsibility, transcending time, space, and sometimes even fear itself. I hope that you will enjoy “REALiZE” alongside their exploits on the big screen.
REALiZE is mixed by the renowned engineer Zakk Cervini, who previously collaborated with international acts like Blink-182, Bring Me the Horizon, and more. It also marks LiSA’s first release in seven months since her sixth album LANDER in November 2022.
With the reveal of REALiZE, LiSA’s contribution to the Spider-Man soundtrack adds another compelling reason to catch the movie—especially if you’re in Japan!
