As you know, James Gunn has been meeting with lots of actors for his upcoming Superman: Legacy film. While none of the cast members have been officially announced, there are going to be a lot of good actors that won’t end up being cast in the movie.

A fan reached out to Gunn on Twitter and asked him if he would consider casting any of the actors that don’t make it into Superman: Legacy in other projects a DC Studios and Gunn replied simply with, “Absolutely.” So, some of these actors still might have a future within Gunn’s DC Cinematic Universe.

Gunn commented on the ongoing casting process for Superman: Legacy, saying: “Amazing amazing weekend of auditions for Superman: Legacy. I’m blown away by some of these actors, among the best I’ve ever seen or worked with.”

Gunn recently said of the auditioning process: “Now that we’ve kind of done a lot of auditions, we’re narrowing it down. We’re not done yet. By the way — there’s a lot of stories out there about who we’re auditioning and all these screen tests. I’m just saying it’s not all true, that’s for sure. There’s things in there that are completely false, but I can’t go out there and say ‘Oh this isn’t true, and this isn’t true’ without going through everything.”

We’ve heard that David Corenswet (Pearl, Hollywood and The Politician) is the top choice for Superman followed by Jacob Elordi (The Kissing Booth), Andrew Richardson (Daughter of the Bride), and Pierson Fodé (The Bold and the Beautiful).

Some of the other rumors include Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Samara Weaving (Ready or Not), Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton), and Emma Mackey (Sex Education) up for the role of Lois Lane. Nicholas Hoult (Renfeild) is also in the running, possibly as Lex Luthor.

We’ll just have to wait and see who actually ends up being cast in the lead roles in the movie! The film will introduce a new version of Superman, and it will tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”

Superman: Legacy will launch the movie part of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. The movie is set to be released on July 11, 2025.
