Kerry Washington is joining the cast of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.

Per Deadline, Washington has been tapped to play an undisclosed character in Rian Johnson’s third Knives Out movie, which is titled Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.

The cast of Wake Up Dead Man also includes Challengers Josh O’Connor, Civil War’s Cailee Spaeny, and Sherlock’s Andrew Scott. Daniel Craig is also reprising his role as Benoit Blanc.

Washington has been nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Olivia Pope in ABC’s Scandal. She was also nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or a Movie for her performances in 2016’s Confirmation and 2020’s Little Fires Everywhere.

She also played Alicia Masters in 2005’s Fantastic Four and the 2007 sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Additionally, she’s starred in movies such as 2001’s Save the Last Dance, 2004’s Ray, 2005’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith, 2010’s For Colored Girls, 2012’s Django Unchained, and, most recently, 2022’s The School for Good and Evil.

Washington will soon be seen in Six Triple Eight, a new war drama movie directed by Tyler Perry, as well as Joe Carnahan’s Shadow Force. She also stars alongside Delroy Lindo in a Hulu series, UnPrisoned, which has been renewed for a second season.
