四畳半      を   拡げたくて     

yojouhan wo hirogetakute 

I wanted to expand my small room(in a size of 4.5-sheets of tatami mat)

閃いて     から  は  速かった

hirameite kara wa hayakatta

After I got an idea, it went so quickly

次     の 日  には  出来上がった 手作り    プラネタリウム

tsugi no hi niwa dekiagatta   tezukuri Planetarium

On the next day, I created a hand-made platetarium

科学     の    本  に 書いて あった 作り方        の   他    に  アレンジ

kagaku no hon ni kaite   atta   tsukurikata no hoka ni arrange

I made it accroding to a science book with some addition

実在     しない   穴  を   開けて 恥ずかしい  名前    付けた

Jitsuzai shinai ana wo akete hazukashii namae tsuketa

I made a hole that won’t exist and put a name too embarassing to say

天井      も    壁    も    無くなって 代わり に 宇宙    を   敷き   詰めて

tenjyou mo kabe mo nakunatte kawari ni uchuu wo shiki-tsumete 

Without a ceiling or walls, it was filled with space instead

窓     は    一度    も    開けない まま  で    全て   を 手 に 入れた

mado wa ichido mo   akenai mama de subete wo te ni ireta 

Without never opening a window I got everything

四畳半       の   片隅        には  ここ に  しか  無い 星     が  ある

yojyouhan no katasumi niwa koko ni shika nai hoshi ga aru

on the corner of my 4.5 tatami room, there is a star that exist only in here

傷     付かず    傷    付けない まま    で   君   を つい に  閉じ 込めた

kizu-tsukazu kizu-tsukenai mama de kimi wo tsui ni toji-kometa 

Without hurting you or hurting me I succeeded to capture you 

近付いた    分     遠ざけてて

chikazuita bun toozaketete 

As we come closer, I try to stay away

触れる 事    は    諦めてた

fureru koto wa akirameteta 

I gave up touching you

背伸び  したら    驚く       程    容易く

senobi shitara odoroku hodo tayasuku

When I stretched my reach harder, in a surprisingly easy way

触れて しまった

furete shimatta 

I was able to touch you

やめとけば    良かった

yametokeba yokatta 

I shouldn’t have done it

当たり前   だけど   本当   に    届いて しまった

atarimae dakedo hontou ni todoite shimatta 

Naturally but I didn’t expect to reach out

この   星     は    君  じゃない 僕      の   夢

kono hoshi wa kimi jyanai   boku no yume 

This star is not yours but my dream

本当      に 届く     訳     無い 光

hontou ni todoku wake nai hikari 

A light that can’t be reached 

でも   消えて くれない   光

demo kiete   kurenai hikari 

But that shining light won’t disappear

四畳半        の  窓     を   開けて 見 上げれば     現実   が   巡る

yojyouhan no mado wo akete mi-agereba genjitsu ga meguru

When I open the window of my 4.5 tatami room, the reality gets in

実在      しない  星    を   探す       心      が プラネタリウム

Jitsuzai shinai hoshi wo sagasu kokoro ga planetarium

The heart searching for a star that won’t exist made a planetarium

消えそうな くらい  輝いてて      

kiesouna  kurai    kagayaitete 

It was shining so bright that it is about to disappear

消えて くれなくて

kiete kurenakute

But it won’t disappear

泣きそうな くらい 近付いてて     

nakisouna kurai chikazuitete 

It is nearing so close that I would almost cry

届かなくて

todokanakute 

But it can’t be reached

見えなくても     輝いてて

mienakutemo kagayaitete 

Even though I can’t see it is still shining bright

触れようと  君   の   名前   を   呼ぶ

fureyouto kimi no namae wo yobu 

I call out your name to touch it

一番      眩しい    あの   星    の    涙       は

ichiban mabushii ano hoshi no namida wa

Tear of that most bright star

僕     しか    知らない

boku shika shiranai 

I’m the only one who knows

消えそうな くらい 輝いてて

kiesou na kurai   kagayaitete 

It was shining so bright that it is about to disappear

触れよう と  手  を  伸ばして   みた

fureyou to te   wo nobashite mita 

I reach out to touch it

一番      眩しい     あの  星    の   名前    は

ichiban mabushii ano hoshi no namae wa 

The name of that most bright star

僕      しか   知らない

boku shika shiranai 

I’m the only one who knows

いつ だって   見付ける   よ   君    の  場所   は

itsu datte    mitsukeru yo kimi no basho wa 

I can always find  your place
