The rough situation that Jonathan Majors has found himself in just got a lot rougher. As you know, the actor was previously charged with multiple counts of harassment and assault involving a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman in New York City. Something his attorney has said he is “completely innocent” of.
Well, Rolling Stone recently published a new report that is very damaging to the actor, and it’s definitely not going to help his case in court or public opinion. His alleged abuse extends far beyond his recent legal issues as two dozen sources have come forward with abuse allegations against him.
Rolling Stone reports that Majors has been abusive in at least two past relationships. One is said to have been physically abusive with friends of one of Majors’ ex-girlfriends claiming that his abuse had escalated to strangling his girlfriend. The was emotional abuse in which a source called the relationship Majors had with one ex-girlfriend “emotional torture.”
Other claims say that he was controlling over everything including what she ate and who she could interact with. It was also explained that he would get angry to the point where he needed to “hit something or punch a wall or something of that nature.” Another source said that “on a few occasions that he wanted her to believe that he was the oxygen in the room [and] that she could not live without him.”
Of course, Majors’ attorney, Dustin A. Pusch, denied these claims calling the allegations “false” and “based entirely on hearsay.” It’s said that Majors’ legal team also sent Rolling Stone six testimonies from other women that Majors had either dated or was close with to speak positively about Majors’ character.
But, Rolling Stone reached out to the six women, and three of them said they never gave Majors’ team permission to release any statements, and another one said that her statement had been pre-written and was “not truthful.” So… that doesn’t help the situation.
The report also came with stories of Majors’ behavior on the set of some of his films. One story comes from the production of the 2022 film Devotion where Majors allegedly made members of the costume department cry. One source said the situation was “borderline abusive,” and another said that Majors seemed to enjoy this messed-up situation, saying that he took “some kind of sick pleasure” in it.
Then on the set of his upcoming film Magazine Dreams, Majors is said to have pushed one member of production and physically intimidated another, which led to someone complaining about the actor’s behavior. Majors’ attorney obviously denied these claims and chalked it up to Majors’ style of method acting, which he said, “can be misconstrued as rudeness at times.”
The abuse allegations go all the way back to his time are Yale’s David Geffen School of Drama. According to the report, the actor was known for his intense behavior and he apparently got into “multiple” physical altercations with other people. One alumni from the school shared that a lot of people “felt in physical danger around him.” He is said to have slapped a classmate while they were play wrestling during rehearsal. Because of that and other issues, the administrators sent out emails about rehearsal etiquette and violence.
Needless to say, Majors has found himself in even more hot water. Majors already lost his talent manager Entertainment 360 “due to issues surrounding the actor’s personal behavior.” He was dropped from the PR firm The Lede Company last month.
Most people are curious to see what Marvel Studios is going to do. So far they just have been keeping him out of any kind of marketing from his upcoming project Loki Season 2. I have a feeling that they are going to end up replacing him, there’s just too much damage that has been done to his image.
