JILUKA unleashes 5th single “KVLT”

JILUKA finally unleashed their highly anticipated fifth digital single, “KVLT”, on February 16. JILUKA consistently delivers high-quality music, building strong expectations among their fanbase. With this release, JILUKA aims to uphold their reputation and surpass their previous successes.

To promote their new single, JILUKA announced two one-man concerts named “DOMINVNT”. The first took place on February 8 at Yogibo META VALLEY in Osaka, while the next is set for February 23 at Veats SHIBUYA in Tokyo. Besides this single, JILUKA has also released a photoset showcasing their striking new look, which features a dramatic gothic setting. The background, filled with chandeliers, candles, and gothic decor, adds depth and atmosphere. The use of negative space, particularly with the surrounding darkness and fog, enhances the dramatic effect.

Their image strongly aligns with gothic romanticism and visual kei, particularly the darker subgenres influenced by cyber-goth and darkwave aesthetics. If you’re a big fan of JILUKA, you probably know that they describe their concept as Electro Gothic Metal (EGM). The members’ attire, featuring leather straps, hoods, and metallic elements, recalls influences from post-apocalyptic and cyber-goth fashion.

As part of the overall promotion for the single, the band released the official music video on February 7, giving fans a first look at its new elements.

The music video for “KVLT” showcases the band’s signature blend of dark aesthetics and high-energy performance. The visuals are steeped in occult and cult-like imagery, aligning with the song’s thematic focus on mystery.

Sena, as the intro protagonist, delivers a captivating and longer on-screen performance. The lighting and set design create a haunting atmosphere, enhancing the video’s connection to the secret cult concept. Musically, “KVLT” combines intense instrumentals with powerful vocals, further solidifying JILUKA’s musical signature but with a clearer performance and less overwhelming sound, making it a more enjoyable single compared to previous ones.

JILUKA is a Japanese visual kei metal band active since in May 2013. The band consists of vocalist Ricko, guitarist and main songwriter Sena, bassist Boogie, and drummer Zyean. Their music blends modern metal elements with the distinctive aesthetics of visual kei.
