Appearing in the second episode of Bridgerton Season 3, Lord Remington has a brief conversation with Penelope Featherington, but he makes a lasting impact as a wheelchair-bound bachelor of the ton. Portrayed by actor Zak Ford-Williams, who uses a wheelchair in real life, he is one of the few gentlemen that has a positive experience with Penelope, sharing their mutual adoration for Lady Whistledown’s gossip sheet. However, details about this new character on the scene are rather thin. Here’s what we know so far about Lord Remington and how he might factor into the story for the third season of Bridgerton.
Who is Lord Remington in Bridgerton Season 3?
Lord Remington is one of the potential suitors for Penelope Featherington in Bridgerton Season 3, though fans project that he might be better suited as the next Lady Whistledown.
In a short exchange with Penelope Featherington at one of the balls during the season, Lord Remington reveals that he enjoys sharing gossip and can’t wait for the next issue of Lady Whistledown. From her column, he recites how Queen Charlotte has yet to choose a diamond and recites a passage concerning why Lady Carter was left off the guest list. After the gentlemen departs, Penelope tells Colin Bridgerton that Lord Remington wishes to call upon her the following day.
That said, we never see Lord Remington do that in a later scene, so either he lost interest or the meeting wasn’t shown. Perhaps the advances of Lord Debling and the rumors about how she received courtship lessons from Colin Bridgerton prevented him from following up with her. Beyond that, we only see him in the background, like in one of the tents during the hot air balloon event.
At any rate, several fans on Reddit have theorized that Lord Remington is a strong candidate to become the next Lady Whistledown. Indeed, he would be an interesting solution. In Part 1 of Bridgerton Season 3, it’s clear that Colin Bridgerton despises Lady Whistledown but doesn’t know that she is actually Penelope. Eloise Bridgerton knows this secret, so she might tell Colin the truth in Part 2, though the revelation will potentially ruin Colin and Penelope’s engagement. However, if someone else were able to take the mantle of Lady Whistledown, like Lord Remington, this would give Penelope some much needed cover to prevent the secret from being known publicly or at least cast doubt on the subject altogether.
We’ll have to learn more about what happens with Lord Remington and Lady Whistledown when Part 2 of Bridgerton Season 3 drops on June 13.
