Japan’s underground idol scene keeps laying on the surprises with a new hardcore band debuting alongside an idol’s birthday celebration at Shimo-Kitazawa ERA. Human Error (ヒューマンエラー) is a four-piece hardcore ensemble fronted by an idol graduate. The idol graduate in question has kept her stage name “Horumon”, attributed to her love for offal and the Japanese band Maximum the Hormone.
Things don’t tone down for the band that hit the ground running. It’s a convoluted beginning where Horumon announced her graduation weeks before her birthday celebration and is now a hardcore frontwoman.
While graduation in the idol world usually means retirement, Horumon isn’t done with the idol world completely. She maintains a strong connection with fans and even appears in a separate much smaller group, SPiCA.
Fans of idols or hardcore music can enjoy listening to their three debut tracks.

Human Error opens their debut with “[Muri] Neko ni Aitai Kudan ni Tsuite” ([無理] ネコに会いたい件について), a song about longing for cats despite your landlord forbidding you, accompanied by easy and active choreography.
Next up is the hard-hitting “TND♡”. If you have rage about certain dating apps, or just want to slam around in the pit, this one’s for you.
Human Error closed off their debut with Kawaii Ko Ni Wa Tabi Wo Saseyo (かわいい子には旅をさせよ). A bit of a softer number about a longing and fight to perform and live on through the arts.
Overall, Human Error is a group you will want to keep an eye on for their unique energy, origins, and influences.
