Hikaru Utada previews a new song “Mine or Yours” in a Green tea commercial

So. Do you remember that lil’ thing Hikaru Utada did with Ayataka Green Tea and their re-recorded version of “Traveling”? Turns out it’s a full-blown partnership. Because, of course it would be. Teruzane looks out for his child and he ain’t about no ‘one and done’ shit. He told them ‘My baby will be in at LEAST two of y’alls commercials. You will fly them to Europe. And you will run them money to use their song’. The song here being the brand spanking new, “Mine or Yours”.

I’ve been pretty lukewarm on Utada’s singles and tie-in songs for a good while. So it’s nice to finally have them drop something that I like. “Mine or Yours” has such a nice vibe and sound, which makes it sit nicely alongside the likes of “Nijikan Dake wo Vacance” and “Good Night”.

As I post this, there’s been no release date given for the song. But we know it’ll release eventually.

And the commercial is beautifully shot too. Very much in the style of something you would expect from a Utada music video.
