June 1st. Barely one day into Pride month, and Hikaru hopped into the niji-iro basu with the megaphone and announced the release of a brand new song. And obviously there is a tie-in, because Teruzane is a businessman in the business of making his child some money.
Nonkaru Binarytada’s song is titled “Gold -Mata Au Hi Made-”, and will feature in the film Kingdom 3: Flame of Destiny, which ‘surprise, surprise’, is a Sony Pictures release. Not only is Poundkaru Yentada signed to Sony Music, but they have had a tie-in with at least one product in every single Sony division at this point, except home appliances. And I’m sure somebody is going to comment on this post with Brandkaru Ambassatada in some Sony WashStation commercial from the early 2000s, when Sony tried to branch out into the washing machine market.
“Gold -Mata Au Hi Made-” sounds really nice based on this snippet. In fact, I think it sounds better than nice. I absolutely adore it and have run it back countless times. It sounds gorgeous. And yet, I have no sense of where the song could go. It could pull a “Chikai” and become more percussive. Or it could be a “Hatsukoi” and “Sakura Nagashi” type affair, with just a piano and strings. Or it could pull a “Bad Mode” or a “Find Love”, and just switch mid way through into something different. Either way, I’m intrigued and sold based on the snippet alone.
