Fukuro has launched a crowdfunding campaign via Indiegogo, titled Fukuro: The Road To America, ahead of their US West Coast Tour Summer 2024 in July. As a way of offsetting expenses such as travel costs, the band has launched this campaign which has reached 10% of its funding already. The campaign will be up until May 9, 2024 at 23:59 (JST), so check it out!

Some of the campaign’s perks the band has on offer go from a behind-the-scenes DVD to one signed digital photo of Fukuro in Los Angeles. One such perk offers a once-in-a-lifetime chance to explore Los Angeles with Fukuro on July 7, alongside a Japanese and English-speaking guide in attendance. Backers for the “L.A. with Fukuro!” package will also receive a handwritten letter from the band. You can also contribute directly without receiving perks for as little as 150 JPY or more.

Promoter Japan Music Revolution also updated the Indiegogo page regarding the crowdfunding campaign. They state that the tour will go ahead whether or not the campaign reaches its goal.

All the money will go to the band and US tour expenses with the perks assured to be delivered. It will also manage to keep ticket, VIP, and merch prices as low as possible to try and avoid price gouging, so every little helps! What’s clear is that they want as many people as possible to attend to keep Fukuro touring abroad.

Fukuro also published a video message explaining the crowdfunding campaign and plans leading up to the tour.

It’s not often we see bands, especially visual kei bands, launch a crowdfunding campaign to fund their overseas tour. I personally would love to see this happening more, but I understand it’s a lot of work and organization. We can only hope that this is the start of something.
