After splitting up and working on their own separate projects over the past few years, Joel and Ethan Coen will be working on a new film together, Ethan revealed.

What do we know about the Coen brothers next movie?

During a recent interview with Empire Magazine (via /Film), Coen noted that he hasn’t “gone solo” like many believe him to have and is actually developing a new film with his brother. Coen didn’t go into any depth on what the film was but did note that it might take precedence over his planned trilogy of lesbian B-movies that he’s making with his wife, Tricia Cooke, and begins with the upcoming Drive-Away Dolls.

Ethan and Joel Coen, known mostly as the Coen Brothers, are two of the more iconic filmmakers working today. Their filmography includes films like Raising Arizona, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, O Brother, Where Are Thou?, No Country for Old Men, Burn After Reading, and True Grit, to name a few.

Their last project as a pair as of now came in 2018’s The Ballad of Buster Scruggs for Netflix, a film that went on to earn three nominations at the 91st Academy Awards, including Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Costume Design, and Best Original Song (“When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings”).

In 2019, the pair seemingly split up to pursue other projects, with Joel Coen going on to direct The Tragedy of Macbeth, and Ethan working on Drive-Away Dolls. While many thought the pair would be split up for good, thankfully the brotherly duo still plan on working together.
