The Great, the fan-favorite series following the rise of Catherine the Great through 18th-century Russia, is premiering its Season 3 on Hulu later this week. Here’s when to watch it.

When to watch and stream The Great Season 3 on Hulu?

Hulu will release all 10 installments of The Great Season 3 at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT on Friday, May 12.

The series displays a fictitious biography of Catherine the Great, one of Russia’s most influential monarchs, and can hardly be labeled as historically accurate. Yet, fans love the irony of the show written and executive produced by Tony McNamara (The Favourite), with Matt Shakman (Game Of Thrones) serving as director. The appreciated comedy-drama series is led by Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult, with both actors earning Golden Globe nominations for their performances in the sophomore season. Fanning and Marian Macgowan are also serving as executive producers.

The cast includes Phoebe Fox as Marial, Adam Godley, Gwilym Lee as Grigor, Charity Wakefield, Douglas Hodge, and Sacha Dhawan.

“Catherine (Elle Fanning) and Peter (Nicholas Hoult) attempt to make their marriage work after some seemingly insurmountable problems,” reads the Season 3 synopsis. “Peter witnessed his own attempted murder at Catherine’s hands and she also imprisoned all of his friends. On top of this, Peter is at a loose end playing First Husband to Catherine’s reign, so he busies himself with fathering, hunting and salty culinary ventures. But they’re not enough to keep him contented as visions of his late father (played by Jason Isaacs), get in his head about his failures as Peter the Great’s son.”

“Catherine the Great starts making a name for herself beyond her borders and inspired by a visit from the US ambassador, sets up a conference where peasants, nobles and merchants can all give their input on developing a new Russia. She learns that even the best political leaders sometimes need to make compromises in order to progress.”
