Director Bryan Singer is attempting a comeback of sorts after a litany of allegations against the director have been made, with Singer working on three independent films and a documentary about himself.

According to a recent report from Variety, Singer is in the process of trying to find financing for three narrative features set in and around Israel, where the director has reportedly been living for the past couple of years. Singer has met with a variety of investors about backing the films, one of which Variety says is set in the 1970s.

All three projects would be made for about $10 million per movie and will be produced by Jason Taylor, who is the former president of production at Singer’s Bad Hat Harry Prods., according to the report.

Perhaps more surprising, though, is the fact that Singer is said to be working on a self-financed documentary “about himself and his struggles.” According to the report, Singer will address the numerous allegations of sexual misdeeds made against him. The movie will be part of the filmmaker’s attempt at making a career comeback.

Singer has remained out of the Hollywood spotlight for some time now, following a 2019 report from The Atlantic that detailed a litany of allegations against him. In the report, four people accuse Singer of having various sexual encounters — including one allegation of rape — with teenage boys throughout his time in Hollywood. Singer also settled a 2017 suit filed by Cesar Sanchez-Guzman in 2019, who claimed that Singer sexually assaulted him during a 2003 party in Seattle.
