This leads to Torrace having to hold up an audition to replace Carver, where she recruits Missy, a skilled gymnast, to be Carver’s replacement. Missy accuses the Toros of copying their dance routines after watching one of their cheer routines, which is vehemently denied by the captain of the cheer team.

Missy then, to prove her point, tales Torrance to L.A. for her to watch the East Compton Clovers’s cheer routine. The cheer team captain of East Compton Clovers confronts the pair about their intentions of coming and watching their routine. Isis reveals that Big Red videotaped their cheer routine and stole them for Toros to perform.

This leads to a brutal confrontation between the two that ends with the Clovers vowing to beat the Toros in the upcoming National Championship. Meanwhile, Torrance begins to worry about being cursed with bad luck after she drops the Spirit Stick during a dare at cheer camp. Mutual attraction starts to grow between Cliff and Torrance after the two start to spend time with each other.

Torrance informs the team about Big Red’s betrayal, but the cheer team votes in favor of performing the same routine for the upcoming nationals. Missy reluctantly goes along with the squad after Torrance agrees with the team due to her feeling incompetent to teach and learn a new routine in a limited time. The Toros team is left humiliated after the Clovers perform their routine at a Toros game.

The cheer team tries to raise money by car washing to hire Sparky Polastri, a brilliant dance choreographer. The team learned a new routine from Sparky, even though she regularly put the team on diets and belittled them for little things.

The Toros team is left humiliated again after their new routine is performed by another team before them during regionals, and they have no choice but to perform the same routine.

Even though the team lands a place in regionals, the squad captain, Torrance, is warned to prepare a new routine. Torrance considers quitting after being chastised by Big Red for her inability to lead the team. Meanwhile, Cliff breaks his friendship with Torrace after witnessing her kiss Aaron, but Torrance breaks up with Aaron after she catches him cheating on her.

After several ups and downs, both of the cheer teams, including Toros and Clovers, make it to the finals. Even though Toros fails to win against Clovers in the competition, they have gained a newfound respect for each other. The film ends with the Toros celebrating another successful season while Cliff and Torrance share a kiss.
