Ashmaze. announced at their sponsored event titled “Shukumeiron” on September 2, that the band’s name will be “Azavana” going forward.

Moreover, the last few months have seen them bring on multiple guest vocalists after the departure of Souma, their previous vocalist. They’ve now found a permanent vocalist: Ryo, formerly of the band VIRGE, has officially joined Azavana. Right-side guitarist Ryo has also changed his name to Ryohei.

To usher in the next phase, Azavana also released a new song titled Azabana (痣花) alongside an accompanying music video. The graceful ballad brings blue hues, sweeping synths, resounding bells, twinkling piano, and of course, Ryo’s smooth and warm vocals.

The music video finds the band’s performance in a derelict concrete building surrounded by plants and soil. Completing the visuals is the combination of blue hues, nature footage, and a cool overlay of effects that conveys a poignant emotion behind the song. Their artist photo also replicates the atmosphere of the music video.
