Participating judges comments:
Sohei Miyoshi (Choral Conductor/Secretary General of the Tokyo Choral Association/Planning and Supervision)
Thank you for all your entries during the first competition. Although it was part of the judging process, we thoroughly enjoyed watching all of them. We look forward to encountering even more exciting performances this time. In particular, we are eagerly awaiting performances that fully showcase a love for anime songs and choir music.
Tatsuya Tanaka (Composer)
I was once again involved in supporting the choir arrangements and sheet music creation for this event. In the previous competition, I keenly felt everyone’s passion for choir and anime through the videos. And although all the performances started from “anime songs” and “choir,” I was amazed at the diverse range of expressions. This is a place for everyone to express their tastes to the fullest. Whether alone, in pairs, or in groups, as long as there is singing, it’s alright! Please consider entering.
TRUE (Lantis/Artist)
I am honored to serve as a judge for ChoieL. Choir provides a wonderful opportunity to experience the fundamental joy of music. Feeling the breath of someone on your right and the heartbeat of someone on your left, please enjoy the pleasure of making music together. It’s certain to enrich even the simplest of everyday moments. Even if you have no choir experience, feel free to express yourself. There is no right answer in music. I look forward to enjoying each of
your ensembles!
What Is the Anime Song Choir Project “ChoieL”?
The anime song choir project “ChoieL” was launched on June 1, 2022, with the aim of bringing together the beloved tradition of choir and the world of anime songs. Our goal is to draw out new charms from each, aspiring to a future where anime songs are loved as standard numbers in the choir world. As the first step of this project, we hosted our first online choir competition in August 2022, and 50 groups participated to showcase the fresh appeal of anime songs.
Starting from the second online competition, we will utilize our intellectual property of anime songs to deliver free music events to young people and fans worldwide.
