When it was announced that Jeremy Renner had joined the cast of Rian Johnson’s upcoming whodunnit murder mystery movie Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, I completely forgot about the actor’s connection to the last film, Glass Onion.

In Glass Onion, we learn that actor Jeremy Renner has his own brand of hot sauce in the Knives Out universe. That hot sauce played an important role in the film.

With Renner already being introduced in the universe as himself having a hot sauce brand, it makes sense to think that the actor will be playing himself in Wake Up Dead Man.

We won’t know for sure until more details on the film are released, but it would be pretty great if Renner did end up playing himself, and involved with Detective Benoit Blanc’s next mystery.

There’s still no word on the plot, the cast also includes Jeremy Renner, Mila Kunis, Kerry Washington, Josh O’Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, and latest addition Daryl McCormack.

Rian Johnson teased the next film saying: “I love everything about whodunnits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is. There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies.”

The film is about to go into production.
