Rian Johnson has started casting his Netflix film project, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, and Josh O’Connor (Challengers), Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus), and Andrew Scott (Fleabag), will join Daniel Craig in the film.

Johnson is directing from a script he wrote, but we have no idea what the story will entail or who the actors will be playing. This is just the start of what is sure to be an all-star cast of actors.

All we know is that Craig is returning to star as detective Benoit Blanc. The last update we had on the film came from Johnson, who said: “It’s coming along. I obviously couldn’t work during the strike, and now that it’s over, I’m diving in full force, and so it’s coming along.

He added: “I’ve got the premise, I’ve got the setting, I’ve got what the movie is in my head. It’s just a matter of writing the damn thing.”

Johnson also said: “I love everything about whodunits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is. There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies.”

The film is set to go into production next month and will be released sometime in 2025.
