D suspends activities following 20th anniversary

After two decades of extraordinary music, legendary visual kei band “D” announced that they will suspend activities in March 2024. However, there is a lot to look forward to this summer, including a tour and a new single. Don’t miss D’s upcoming music and activities, and revel in their imaginative world until the end.

The Twitter announcement received an outpouring of support and dismay from fans around the world. Many fans were shocked, and many more were grateful for D’s music, creativity, and the color they brought into people’s lives.

D’s shocking announcement thanks fans for 20 years of support and provides dates for their upcoming tour this summer.

D plans to release a new single this summer, alongside a domestic Japan tour. So far, that’s all we know about this mysterious new single—but D will hold an out-of-store event this summer celebrating its release.

Later this year, D also joins fellow visual kei legends Moi dix Mois, Versailles, and Matenrou Opera for The Japanese Visual Metal Tour. The Japanese Visual Metal Tour spans a four-show circuit at Zepp concert halls across Japan. The event aims to reignite live music in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their latest single, REVENANT was released on April 18. The music video spot, available on D’s official YouTube channel, includes subtitles. The story is told in two parts—REVENANT Kuyautsutsu no shou (黒夜現の章) and REVENANT Hakuchuumu no shou (白昼夢の章). REVENANT is a gripping and dynamic release, showcasing how D masters both hard rock and delicate instrumentals.
