During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, That ’70s Show vet Mila Kunis addressed recent reports about her potential casting in Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four movie. The Golden Globe nominee quickly denied her involvement with the highly-anticipated MCU reboot and revealed people had misinterpreted her lunch meeting with Fantastic Four director Matt Shakman.
However, Kunis did confirm she knows who will be in the upcoming superhero movie. “I am not in Fantastic Four, but I know who is,” she teased (via The Hollywood Reporter). “But, I don’t want to get in trouble with The Mouse [Disney executives], so none of you will find out.”
Who’s Involved With The MCU Fantastic Four?
Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four will be directed by WandaVision’s Matt Shakman from a screenplay being rewritten by Josh Friedman, based on a draft from Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer. It was first teased by Kevin Feige during 2019’s San Diego Comic-Con. Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts was originally slated to direct the project but decided to drop out in order to take a break from the superhero genre.
Official casting for the film hasn’t been announced yet, but The Office alum John Krasinski made his debut as a variant of Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Apart from Mila Kunis, Adam Driver is also one of the popular names rumored to be attached to the project. Driver is reportedly being offered to become the MCU’s official Reed Richards.
The Fantastic Four comic debuted in 1961. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, it was the first superhero team title produced by Marvel Comics and popularized famous characters like Sue Storm and Doctor Doom.
Production on the Fantastic Four movie is expected to begin in early 2024 and is set to make its debut during Phase 6 of the MCU on February 14, 2025.
