Apple TV+ has dropped the official Lessons in Chemistry teaser trailer for the upcoming series adaptation of Bonnie Garmus’ novel of the same name. The video features Oscar winner Brie Larson as a scientist Elizabeth Zott who becomes a cooking show host after getting fired from her lab. It is slated to make its debut this coming fall.

Check out the Lessons in Chemistry teaser trailer below (watch more trailers):

“Set in the early 1950s, it follows Elizabeth Zott , whose dream of being a scientist is put on hold in a society deeming that women belong in the domestic sphere, not the professional one,” reads the synopsis. “When Elizabeth finds herself pregnant, alone and fired from her lab, she musters the ingenuity only a single mother has. She accepts a job as a host on a TV cooking show, and sets out to teach a nation of overlooked housewives – and the men who are suddenly listening – a lot more than recipes … all the while craving a return to her true love: science.”

Lessons in Chemistry is executive produced by showrunner Lee Eisenberg. The series stars Brie Larson as Elizabeth Zott, Lewis Pullman as Calvin, Aja Naomi King as Harriet Stone, Stephanie Koenig as Fran Frask, Patrick Walker as Wakely, Thomas Mann as Boryweitz, Kevin Sussman as Walter, and Beau Bridges as Wilson.

In addition to starring, Larson is also serving as an executive producer. This marks the Captain Marvel actress’ first major scripted TV project in nearly a decade after making a three-episode appearance on NBC’s Community. Apart from the upcoming adaptation, she is also set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel in the upcoming The Marvels movie. She will also be reprising her role as Envy Adams in Netflix’s upcoming Scott Pilgrim: the Anime series.

Executive producers are Garmus, Eisenberg, Elijah Allan-Blitz, Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan, Susannah Grant, Sarah Adina Smith, Natalie Sandy, and Louise Shore. It hails from Apple Studios and Aggregate Films.
