BUCK-TICK returns with the release of a new single and their 24th full-length studio album before the year’s end. The single, titled Raijin Fuujin – Resonance (雷神 風神 – レゾナンス), is scheduled for release on November 20, 2024, followed by the album SUBROSA on December 4, 2024. Together, these mark the band’s first new releases since the passing of their beloved vocalist, Atsushi Sakurai, in October 2023.

Their 43rd single, Raijin Fuujin – Resonance features the titular track alongside a “computer sound” club remix. The single comes in three editions: Regular Edition (CD only), Limited Edition Type A (CD + Blu-ray), and Limited Edition Type B (CD + DVD). Both limited editions will include a music video for the title track, offering fans a visual complement to the band’s latest release.

Guitarist Hisashi Imai is credited as both the composer and lyricist for the title track. However, it is not yet clear who will perform vocals for this song.

The upcoming single sets the stage for BUCK-TICK’s first album in over a year, SUBROSA. Though the tracklist for SUBROSA is still under wraps, the band has confirmed multiple formats for its release, including CD-only, limited editions with video, and even a cassette tape. In addition to the standard release on December 4, 2024, an LP version will drop later on January 29, 2025. The vinyl edition promises to be a collector’s item, comprising three 180g records and an exclusive original poster.

In addition to the new single and album, the band will close out the year with a live concert, Naisho no Bara no Shita (ナイショの薔薇の下), at Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan on December 29, 2024.

BUCK-TICK’s upcoming releases will be especially poignant for fans mourning the loss of Atsushi Sakurai. His absence is deeply felt, but the band has made a symbolic change in their logo, replacing the dash in their name with an infinity symbol. This alteration honors their lasting legacy while reflecting a commitment to the future.

This groundbreaking band continues to forge ahead, leaving their undeniable mark on the rock music scene.
