The great Weird Al Yankovic has announced that he is releasing a new song and music video this Friday! This comes ten years after his last studio album, and two years after the release of his fun and silly semi-autobiography, which included many of his classics, as well as Yankovic’s last new song, “Now You Know,” which played over the closing credits.
Yankovic teased the future of his music career last year, telling ComicBook: “I don’t think I’ll do another conventional album. The soundtrack came out last year, but that’s a various artists album.
“I’m not giving up music — I’ll probably put out at least one new track next year. But I don’t really like the business model of waiting until I have twelve songs and then putting them out all at once.
“I like coming up with an idea, and if it’s good enough, I’ll want to get that out immediately, and now I can, because I’m not beholden to any contract of business model.”
That’s so cool. I love Weird Al, and have my whole life. I grew up singing his songs, and anticipating his albums, and I look forward to getting new songs and videos to enjoy whenever he releases them.
Follow Weird Al on socials, or wherever you listen to music, and enjoy his new song this Friday.
