lynch. will release their EP titled FIERCE-EP on June 26, and to bring the hype to new heights, the band delivers the music video for the second track, EXCENTRIC.

When taking a look at the music video, it’s clear that the overgrown and abandoned brutalist structure is the centerpiece for the band’s punchy, savage, and broody creation. There’s an otherworldly and bizarre air surrounding them that’s amplified with warped mirrors, film grain, and shaky camera. The roots, plants, dead leaves, and dilapidated scenery works in cohesion to establish such a distinct atmosphere.

All those visual elements come together with the ebbs and flows of the song, accentuated by vocalist Hazuki’s vocals. Transitioning from explosive abrupt shouts, distinctly deep clean vocals, to a mix of powerful chanting, singing, and growls. It’s unnerving, but altogether, EXCENTRIC truly lives up to its name.

Unlike many of lynch.’s previous work, where Hazuki write the majority of the songs, this time around for the new EP, the band is sharing songwriting duties. The exception being the songs UN DEUX TRIOS and EXCENTRIC, where Hazuki is involved in both lyric writing and composition. Meanwhile, the other three songs, Madara, A FIERCE BLAZE, and REMAINS, has Hazuki work with bassist Akinori, guitarist Reo, and guitarist Yusuke respectively.

The band’s album REBORN saw anyone other than Hazuki compose, but it’s different this time around. Hopefully, the creation of the upcoming EP alleviated the vocalist, who in the past has expressed his difficulty with songwriting as the main composer for “lynch.”.

FIERCE-EP will release in regular and limited editions. The regular edition contains five songs, including the song EXCENTRIC. The limited edition features the same tracklist but includes a Blu-ray disc with the music video for EXCENTRIC and its making-of.
