So, here’s the thing… I love Star Wars! I grew up on this franchise, it’s been a part of my life for as long as I can remember! While I like the majority of what’s come out of the franchise over the years, it doesn’t mean I’m going to like everything. That goes with all fans across all kinds of franchises.

Just because The Acolyte isn’t clicking with me doesn’t mean I’m going to start threatening people and other Star Wars fans over it.

Sure, I’ll share what I don’t like about it just like I did with Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Book of Boba Fett, and the sequel trilogy, but I’m not going to go after and attack anyone who does enjoy these things.

The Acolyte is certainly dividing fans, and as we’re seeing, things have gone too far with some hardcore trolls out there who are bullying people.

I just learned that these trolls are going after Wookieepedia as the website’s authors are being faced with bullying, abuse, and death threats following the show’s divisive fourth episode.

This all comes after Wookieepedia updated Ki-Adi-Mundi’s page to detail his appearance in The Acolyte and in response to the trolling, Star Wars fans have rallied around the website with #WeStandWithWookieepedia.

It’s ok not to like something, but what’s happening here is not ok. It’s crazy to me that some people take things to this ridiculous level. As someone who has been threatened and bullied by people online, including people who say they are Star Wars fans, it freakin’ sucks and it hurts.

There’s already so much hate in this world, the least we can do is not bring that Dark Side-level hate to Star Wars, which is supposed to be an escape from that!

Like I said, I love Star Wars and there are so many things to celebrate about the franchise and its community. People need to be reminded of the classic Bill & Ted quote… “Be excellent to each other.”
