Disney Plus’s new TV and movie releases for June 17-23 2024 include new episodes of Doctor Who series 14 and Star Wars: The Acolyte.

On June 18, a new episode of Star Wars: The Acolyte arrives on Disney Plus. This series is set 100 years before the beginning of the Skywalker Saga and follows a Jedi Master investigating a mysterious Jedi murder spree that brings him into contact with his former Padawan. As the two deepen their investigation, shocking truths and revelations about the former Padawan’s past come to light.

Finally, on June 21, a new episode of Doctor Who titled “Empire of Death” arrives on Disney Plus. The newest Doctor Who series stars Sex Education alum Ncuti Gatwa in the role of the Fifteenth Doctor and Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday, his companion. The Doctor and Sunday go on a number of adventures spanning different time periods.

Other releases taking place on Disney Plus this week include Clotilda: The Return Home. This is a documentary that focuses on the descendants of Cudjo Lewis and Gumpa Lee, survivors from the last American ship carrying Black slaves who try to fulfill their ancestors’ dreams of returning to their homeland while being accompanied by National Geographic Explorer Tara Roberts.
