When The Boys returns for Season 4, it’s going to come with some of the craziest episodes that we’ve seen yet! Creator and showrunner Eric Kripke says it will include episodes that are bloodier and more brutal than anything we’ve ever seen before on the show.

During an interview with GamesRadar, Kripke teased the insanity saying: “There is certain imagery, for sure, this season, that you’ll never be able to get out of your eyeballs.”

So that’ll be fun! He went on to talk about the development of this next chapter of the story saying: “We have never had the conversation in the writers’ room of like, ‘Okay, how do we top last season?'”

He continued: “We ask, ‘What is the next layer down of their psychology and their trauma and their problems?’ That gets harder every season. We’re digging pretty deep into these people, and you have to really be disciplined about digging even deeper.”

Kripke goes on to discuss Homelander and how his emotional state will lead to one of the scariest episodes they’ve ever made.

He explained: “He’s a dense psychological snake’s nest of neediness and vulnerability and self-hatred, and he’s going to deal with that in some pretty gnarly ways.

“There’s an episode this season where it could be the scariest we’ve ever seen. I called Antony after looking at the dailies, and I’m like, ‘Wow, man, that is some next-level scary shit.’ And not just by being violent, but just how un-fucking-hinged he is. It’s a delight.”

Well, I can’t wait to watch and experience what he’s talking about here!

In season four, “The world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power.”

“Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son as well as his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.”

Kripke previously teased that this season, “miiiiiiight be the batshit craziest thing we’ve ever done? Like I truly can’t believe we got away with it.”

The series stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, Cameron Crovetti, Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

The eight-episode season will drop three episodes on June 13, followed by a new episode each week, ending with the epic season finale on Thursday, July 18th.
