Marvel Studios Is Going After Anonymous Social Media Scoopers with Their Lawyers — GeekTyrant

Marvel Studios isn’t happy with the anonymous movie scoopers on social media that have revealed details about many of their upcoming films.

Apparently, a lot of these rumors that are being reported are accurate, and Marvel has issued a DMCA subpoena to discover the identity of the person operating one account, in particular.

While some of these reports are hit and miss, there are so many that are getting things right that Marvel is looking to crack down on it.

One of the more popular ones right now is the X user @CanWeGetSomeToast, who recently posted set photos from Captain America: Brave New World, and that seems to have been the breaking point for the Studio.

Matthew Slattof, Marvel’s VP of Global Security and Content Protection is leading the charge with the DMCA subpoena for Instagram to disclose the identity of the person operating the @CanWeGetSomeToast social media account.

If Marvel can confirm the identity of the person running the account, they could be facing a significant lawsuit. If they manage to take this scooper down, it will send the others running for the hill. If Marvel is successful, it’s also likely that Marvel will go after other accounts.

Leaks and scoops are nothing new for Marvel movies as they’ve been happening since they launched, but I guess after all these years, they are ready to fight back.

Not that it really matters, the excitement for Marvel movies isn’t what it used to be. Regardless, this latest move will significantly change how scoops are reported in the future.

One thing is for sure, we probably won’t be getting any new scoops from these social media scoopers anytime soon.
